So, I've been working on my BFA, which I should have gotten a hundred years ago, and this is part of a project for one of my design classes. We were to design five cards of any type as part of a set, and I chose these five Tarot cards to represent a potential full deck. I selected those which have particular meaning in my life currently, and a couple that represent areas that I know I need to work on (please don't try to read me... I've been through enough analysis.) I've been getting into self-portraits a lot lately, most probably influenced by the work of Frida Kahlo, which has spoken to me on a personal level over the last couple of years. Also, by using myself as the model for all five cards, I tried to express the idea that the influences of each of these cards touch on a different facet of the person being read for, and manifest themselves in different ways... that each aspect can express itself as an entirely different personality. I took the photos using a timer, and dropped in the backgrounds and props in Photoshop... a fairly simple process, but I worked to create a magical feel that would bridge ancient symbolism with modern technology.

Lisa, these are great! Very creative. You should make the whole set and do readings.
